This site is maintained primarily by the wife of the family, Helen. It used to be a couples blog for Dave and I to keep in touch with each other throughout days at work. That fell through as he’s not much of a blogger. Then it became our wedding site when we first got engaged — a place for me to document the planning of our wedding. That was a big success and since then I wanted to do something else with it. Since I have my own personal website, Dave has his, and Bean has hers, I decided to make this into a “family” website, where I log what we’re doing as a family.

A little bit about us:

Dave and I met online sometime in 1997. On February 12, 1999, we met for the first time face to face. That became our “anniversary” before we got married. After several years of being in a long distance relationship (he was living in B.C., Canada and I was living in Southern California), I moved up here after graduating from university. We unofficially moved in together, I went to get my Master’s degree in Washington state. On February 12, 2006, Dave proposed to me on a glorious Sunday. We were in our pajamas. It was incredibly romantic because it was perfectly us. A year and a half later, on July 22, 2007, we got married at Minter Gardens in British Columbia, B.C. It was a lovely wedding and I was on Cloud 9. A few months after that, I got pregnant. We now have a daughter, Lily, dubbed affectionately as “Baby Bean” or “Lily Bean” because she was just the size of a little bean when we found out about her. She was born on July 12, 2008, her due date. She’s the apple of our eye, our little miracle lovechild. We are so in love with her and we can’t imagine life without her. What the hell did we do all these years previously?!

We live in B.C., Canada, the best place on Earth. We’re happy, we’re fortunate, and we’re just a simple, happy family.
